Things Change Quickly

When I woke up this morning I could see the sunrise starting. I ran downstairs quickly where my phone was so I could take a picture. I knew my time was limited because within moments the sunrise would be gone. I got a few pictures….and like that….a new day begins….

I sat and watched the beautiful colors fade, I know a new sunset will set tonight and than another sunrise rise tomorrow. The colors will be different, maybe even brighter.  So I must decide do I wish back for this one sunrise or do I take in the moment, cherish it, and be happy to know another one will come?

This holiday season was much different than those in the past. I found myself scrolling through social media watching other families, looking through old photos of past holidays, missing holiday gatherings of the past with family members who are no longer here.

I found myself wishing for easier times, looking at the past, not the present.

I was making a time machine to bring back, only the things I wanted. A machine that stopped sunsets from changing and families staying together forever.

But the sunrise this morning awoke something in me.

Beautiful things change….they change and grow and come back more beautiful.

If we hold on to what needs to change….we miss life today.

The sun will continue to shine, because we need new days. Families will grow, because new generations will build new traditions.

Enjoy every sunrise, it will only be here a few moments. But I assure you another one is on its way.

Happy holidays🎉
